Glock Autopistols Magazine

The inaugural issue of “Glock Autopistols” circa 1995

In an effort to deepen my knowledge of Glock variants with the intent of writing a true collector’s book, I began a small collection of Glock print material including back issues of Glock Autopistols magazine. GA mag was (possibly still is) printed by Harris Publications and has been a mainstay of Glock’s yearly promotional literature since 1995. Each issue reads like any gun rag, but consists only of articles pertaining to Glock firearms and their users.

What is truly amazing is that they are able to write new versions of these same stories year after year (I suppose the same can be said of all monthly gun mags where writers review a different gun every issue–there’s only so many ways to describe shooting before you’re just recycling all the same words).

I have accumulated issues from 1995 clear up to 2016 and I do believe they have made newer ones, I just haven’t been diligent to search. The pictures and production info are what make these extremely valuable to me for research purposes, but as Glock collecting has taken off so has the value of early issues of the publication. If you can even find a ’95 issue, you are likely to fork out as much as $100 for it–a tidy return on a $3.95 publication in 1995’s dollars. Talk about inflation!

These days it seems that anything with the Glock logo on it has become collectible and it’s truly a joy to chase down obscure historical artifacts. New collectors are always joining the fray so as time goes on, the value of these older mags could really escalate–especially if they follow the trend of user manuals! Happy hunting my friends.
