Author’s 19Gen5 fitted with a Radian Ramjet
I’m not one to write about new models very often but a strange quirk seems to have happened in the Glockoverse recently with the introduction of a new MOS version collaboration with Aimpoint. Announced at SHOT Show 2025, the COA series included models 19Gen5, 19X, 43X, 45, 47, & 48. The COA models are pre-milled for the all new COA optic from Aimpoint which is a unique footprint designed to reduce the recoil impulse born by set screws. The body of the COA is also an all new sealed optic and has received good reviews from most users thus far.
Sales have been live since January and I have not paid all that much attention until a friend asked if I could possibly get ahold of some of these pistols from my distributor. When they first released, I was able to get a single 19 and a single 48, both of which sold relatively quickly as the dealers have all been in short supply. Since that initial batch, it seems that only the 19s have been widely distributed so even gunbroker searches infrequently offered anything more than 19s for sale.
The short supply seems to have amplified significantly over the summer and reached the point where Glock informed the major distributors that they would not be receiving any more COA models for the foreseeable future as the company was choosing to send all available units to military and/or law enforcement contracts. The announcement quickly made its way to the gun channels on youtube and various forums and has resulted in a bubble of pricing only immediately. The 19 was available for MAP pricing ($970) all summer and now routinely clears $1200 on auction if not more. Any other model is likely to bring a minimum of $1500 with many clearing $2000 (especially if fitted with a radian ramjet).
One of the first questions I was asked by a fellow Glock enthusiast is whether or not these new COAs were going to be collectible… and my gut response is that, despite the obvious draw at the moment, over time I would expect Glock to catch up to production demands and that these pistols will eventually return to a normal price. At that point, it would be hard to find someone wanting to “collect” them other than those of us who are crazy enough to try to chase owning one of every model Glock (I still have a MASSIVE wish list on that front).
If one is so inclined to collect, the next few years could prove to give you loads of entertainment trying to chase each of these down. Personally, I have only seen 1 or 2 model 47s and ZERO 19Xes with the Aimpoint. Just be sure to sell out before the bubble bursts and come back later if you still wish to own one.
